Your boat, on one sheet
Designed for a standard 20-paddler dragon boat, the card includes:
- Ten rows with left and right seat assignments.
- Space to record each paddler’s weight.
- Boxes for your left and right weight totals and the difference.
- Separate spaces for your drummer and steersperson.
Use it to plan your seating, talk through changes with another coach, or help paddlers find their seats. It’s also a handy paper backup when your phone is tucked away.
A little preparation makes loading easier
Before you head to the water:
- Check who’s coming. Start with your expected crew and identify any seats you may need to fill.
- Review paddling sides. Knowing who is comfortable on either side gives you more options when plans change.
- Use current weights. Keep the units consistent when adding your left and right totals.
- Think through substitutions. Have a plan for key seats so a last-minute absence is easier to manage.
If you move someone or bring in a substitute, update the card and recheck your totals.
