Privacy

DragonSignUp collects the minimum information needed to run your team: account details (name, email, phone), the events and registrations you create, and basic product usage we use to improve the app.

What we collect

• Account info — name, email, optional phone. Stored encrypted at rest in Postgres.
• Team activity — teams, events, registrations, waitlist positions, and email notifications you receive.
• Billing info — when you upgrade, Stripe processes your card. We never see or store card numbers.
• Paddling profile — optional. Discipline, side preference, the roles you can fill, and your weight. Weight is there because lineups depend on balancing load across the boat. You can leave it blank, and you choose who sees it.
• Product analytics — anonymous usage events (e.g. “registered for event”) via PostHog. No personal information beyond a hashed user id.

Who we share it with

Your teammates. Members of a team you belong to can see your name and email address in that team’s contact directory. Your phone number is not shown unless you turn on “Share my phone number with teammates” on your profile — it is off by default. Team admins can export their team’s contact details (including phone numbers on file) for team-management purposes.

Vendors. We use a small set of vendors to run the product: Railway (hosting), Vercel (frontend), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Better Stack (logging, uptime, and our status page), Zoho (support desk), and Google (sign-in). Each has its own privacy policy.

Text messages

If you turn on “Text me when I get a spot” on your profile, we text you when you move off a waitlist into an event. We send these texts through Twilio. Texting is off by default, and only you can turn it on for your own number; a phone number an admin adds for you never enrolls you in texts.

We do not share your phone number or your text-message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your consent applies to waitlist texts from DragonSignUp and nothing else.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or turn the setting off on your profile. Reply HELP or email hello@dragonsignup.com for help.

Your choices

Your weight. Set it to “Coaches can see it” or “Hidden” on your profile. Hidden means the lineup tools still use the number to balance the boat, but nobody on your team sees it. It never appears in the team directory, and you can clear the field at any time.

Your phone number. Private until you turn on “Share my phone number with teammates”, which is off by default.

Your account. You can delete it yourself from your profile page. No email to us, no approval needed. Any event seats you hold are released to the waitlist straight away, and your name, email and phone number are cleared. Everything left goes within 30 days. You can’t sign in again afterwards, and we can’t put it back.

If you run a team on your own, hand admin to someone else first. Your profile page tells you which teams need that before it will let you delete.

Aggregate analytics stay. They no longer identify you.
